Spridlington is a small Lincolnshire village about 12 kilometers north of Lincoln, reached via the A15 and country lanes. Most visitors come from Lincoln or pass through on routes toward the Humber Bridge. The rolling countryside sits on the Lincoln Edge limestone ridge, typical of this part of the county. The 12th-century church of St. Hilary contains an exceptionally well-preserved medieval doom painting above the chancel arch.
