Smithills occupies the northern edge of Bolton, perched on the West Pennine Moors' lower slopes with fine views across Lancashire. The A58 Chorley New Road provides the main access from Bolton centre, whilst the M61 junction 6 offers the quickest route for longer journeys from Manchester or Preston. The area boasts over 300 EV charging points nearby and excellent bus links into Bolton. Smithills Hall, a stunning 14th-century manor house with Tudor additions, remains the district's crown jewel.
