Shothole

Shothole is a small Dorset settlement near Blandford Forum, reached via the A350 and local lanes through chalk downland countryside. The village sits close to several market towns including Winterborne Stickland and Durweston, with good road connections to the A31 for longer journeys. The name derives from medieval "shot holes" - gaps cut through hedgerows for moving livestock between fields.
