Shoemakersville, PA

Shoemakersville is a small Berks County borough along the Schuylkill River, about 15 miles northwest of Reading via US Route 61 and Route 143. The town sits in a river valley surrounded by farmland and hills, with Route 143 as the main street and River Road offering scenic water views. Named for the Shoemaker family who ran a ferry here in the 1750s, the original ferry landing stones remain visible by the riverbank.
