Sandbank sits along the Holy Loch on the Cowal Peninsula, reached via the scenic A815 from Glasgow or by ferry to nearby Hunter's Quay. This small Argyll village enjoys a sheltered position between wooded hills and the loch's calm waters, with Dunoon just 4km south providing shops and services. The village's name comes from the distinctive sandy spit extending into the loch, once home to a controversial US nuclear submarine base.
