Safford, AZ

Safford is the seat of Graham County in southeastern Arizona's Gila River valley, surrounded by desert mountains. US Highway 191 runs north-south through town, connecting to Tucson and the White Mountains, while US Highway 70 provides the main east-west route to Globe and New Mexico. The 10,720-foot Mount Graham dominates the southern skyline and houses an international astronomical observatory with some of the world's most advanced telescopes.
