Rothbury nestles in Northumberland's Coquet Valley, a traditional market town serving as the gateway to some of England's most unspoilt countryside. Reach it via the B6341 from Morpeth or country roads from the A696 near Belsay. The dramatic sloping high street, lined with Victorian terraces, drops sharply toward the River Coquet and remains one of the region's most photographed views.
