Robinswood forms part of Gloucester's southern suburbs, sitting on gently rolling terrain with the Cotswolds visible eastward. The A38 provides the main connection, linking to the M5 at Junction 12 about 3km away, making it handy for commutes to Bristol or Birmingham via the A417 to Cirencester. Local routes connect to neighbouring Tuffley, Matson, and central Gloucester. The area takes its name from Robinswood Hill, a 190-metre limestone outcrop offering panoramic Severn Valley views and marked walking trails to its distinctive trig point summit.
