Rhydymwyn is a Flintshire village five kilometres north of Mold, reached via the A541 through the Alyn Valley. Most visitors arrive from the A55 at Junction 31 or from Chester via the A5104. The settlement developed around limestone quarrying and lead mining, with remnants of a wartime Royal Ordnance Factory that manufactured chemical weapons still visible as protected historical sites.
