Reeth

Reeth sits deep in Swaledale, serving as the unofficial capital of this remote Yorkshire dale where Arkengarthdale joins the main valley. Access is via the A684 from Bedale then minor roads through Leyburn, or the scenic but challenging Buttertubs Pass from Hawes. The B6270 follows Swaledale itself, connecting to Richmond in the east. With approximately 6 EV chargers available, it's well-equipped for electric vehicles tackling these Pennine routes. The triangular village green, surrounded by Georgian houses, hosts an agricultural show that's run continuously since 1919.
