It's just 20 kilometres from Letterkenny on the N15, making it a handy day trip, while Dublin is about 250 kilometres via the N3 and N15 through Lifford. The R236 connects south to Stranorlar and Ballybofey, and the R265 heads west toward Glenties through lovely countryside. The town's crown jewel is the 13th-century Cathedral of St. Eunan, built where Saint Columba founded a monastery in 635 AD.
