Pwll-du is a small Conwy Valley community that serves as a gateway to Snowdonia National Park. Reach it via the A470 from either the A55 coastal route or from Cardiff direction, with local connections through Tal-y-bont and Dolgarrog on typically narrow Welsh valley roads. Electric vehicle charging is available at roughly 30 points in nearby Llanrwst and Betws-y-Coed. The village name means "black pool" in Welsh, after a particularly dark, deep stretch of the River Conwy.
