Purdysburn lies on Belfast's southern edge along the A24 Saintfield Road, about 8km from the city centre. Take the A55 Outer Ring from the M1, then follow the A24 south. Regular buses serve the Saintfield Road corridor, whilst the M1 and A1 provide easy access for longer journeys. The former Purdysburn Hospital site, dating from 1829, remains a notable landmark in this expanding residential area.
