Princetown, Devon
England
Princetown perches at the heart of Dartmoor, England's highest settlement at over 400 metres, surrounded by wild moorland and granite tors. The B3212 provides the main access from Yelverton and Plymouth, whilst the B3357 connects north to Tavistock, both routes demanding respect in Dartmoor's notoriously changeable weather. The village remains dominated by the forbidding walls of Dartmoor Prison, built in 1809 and still very much operational today.
