Porton

Porton is a Wiltshire village on the A338 between Salisbury and the M4, serving as a useful waypoint for longer journeys north. The area sits on typical chalk downland with scattered farming communities connected by narrow country lanes. Electric vehicle drivers will find around 60 fast charging points in the wider area, mainly clustered in Salisbury. The village houses the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory, a major government research facility operating since 1916.
