3About Porthmadog
Porthmadog sits where the Glaslyn estuary meets Tremadog Bay, connected by the A487 coast road and A498 into Snowdonia. This former slate port serves as a gateway to the national park, with about 25 EV charging points for tourists. The town's defining feature is the Cob, a mile-long stone embankment from the 1810s that carries both road and the Ffestiniog Railway across the estuary.
