About Piltdown

Piltdown is a small East Sussex village on the A272, easily reached from the A22 via Uckfield or from Brighton through Lewes. The area offers pleasant drives through chalk downland, with good EV charging infrastructure and over 200 fast chargers nearby. It's infamous as the site of the 1912 "Piltdown Man" discovery, later exposed as archaeology's most celebrated hoax.
