Pepperstreet lies in rural Shropshire between Whitchurch and Wem, reached via the A49 then local roads through Edstaston. The area features typical Midlands countryside with hedgerows and fields, whilst RAF Shawbury nearby adds occasional military traffic. The village's unusual name comes from its history as a trading stop where traveling merchants once dealt in pepper and spices.
