Oversetts lies in Derbyshire's former coalfield, easily reached via the A511 which connects to the A42 for longer journeys or local roads to Swadlincote and Burton upon Trent. The area has roughly 100 EV charging points scattered about. The Victorian Reginald Street Baths still operates as the town's public swimming pool.
