Nether Padley
England
Nether Padley is a tiny Peak District village perfectly placed for exploring the Dark Peak moors and Hope Valley. Drive in via the A6187 from Sheffield or A57 Snake Pass from Manchester, both spectacular routes across the uplands. The village clusters with Grindleford and Upper Padley, connected by narrow lanes beneath dramatic gritstone edges. The ruins of 14th-century Padley Chapel loom directly above the settlement, where two Catholic priests were captured in 1588.
