Nawton

Nawton is a quiet North Yorkshire village between Helmsley and Kirkbymoorside, reached via the A170 from York or the A64 from further afield. The surrounding countryside offers typical Moors scenery with stone-built cottages scattered along country lanes. The 12th-century church of St. Hilda houses remarkable medieval wall paintings uncovered during 1960s restoration work.
