Nant Alyn is a small Flintshire village in the Clwydian Hills, reached via the A541 from Mold (8km south) or local roads from nearby Rhydymwyn. The A494 from Mold connects to Chester and the M56, whilst the A5119 heads toward the English border. The village name derives from Welsh words meaning "stream," referring to the watercourse flowing through the valley.
