Muirkirk

Scotland

Muirkirk is a former mining village in East Ayrshire's uplands, about 30 miles southeast of Glasgow via the M77 and A70. The A70 provides the main east-west route through the settlement, connecting Glasgow to Edinburgh across the Southern Uplands. Electric vehicle drivers will find roughly 20 fast chargers in nearby towns. The village was home to the pioneering Muirkirk Iron Works from 1787, one of Scotland's most influential early industrial sites.
