Mmabatho

Mmabatho and Mahikeng basically run into each other, so most locals treat them as one town rather than two separate stops. The N18 gets you through to Zeerust and the Botswana border one way, or down to Vryburg and Kimberley the other, while the R503 heads out to Lichtenburg. Jozi is about 288 km up the road, Pretoria a bit further. Fun fact: Mmabatho was purpose-built in 1980 as capital of the old Bophuthatswana, and it still houses the North West legislature today.
