Midwest is a tiny Wyoming oil town of 267 people, located 40 miles southwest of Casper on Highway 220. The scenic drive through high desert country takes about 45 minutes from Casper, passing red rock formations and sagebrush flats. Originally built by Midwest Oil Company in 1913, the town still features rows of original white frame worker houses along its orderly streets.
