McLendon-Chisholm, TX

McLendon-Chisholm is a small city of about 4,500 people in Rockwall County, roughly 30 miles northeast of Dallas. Take I-30 east to the Fate exit, then north on FM 551 and east on FM 549 for the most direct route. The rolling hills here mark the transition between East Texas woods and Blackland Prairie. The city uses an unusual aldermanic government system with five aldermen instead of a traditional mayor and council.
