About Marapong

Marapong is a small Waterberg town built for the workers of Matimba Power Station, just outside Lephalale. Get there via the N11, which links up with the N1 for those coming from Joburg or Pretoria, or take the R33 from Vaalwater side. Ellisras Matimba Airport is only 23 km off, handy for flying in. Most traffic is the quick Lephalale run, but you'll also spot Gauteng folk from Daveyton and Wattville heading in for shifts at the power station, one of the biggest coal-fired plants on earth.
