Madisonville is the Madison County seat about 90 miles northwest of Houston via Interstate 45. The city sits in the East Texas Piney Woods where forests meet farmland. I-45 connects directly to Houston and Dallas, while Highway 21 runs east-west to Bryan and Crockett. Most visitors use I-45, making it a natural stop between Texas's major cities.
