Llanfrothen is a small Snowdonia village in Gwynedd, positioned in the Glaslyn valley between Porthmadog and the mountains. The A4085 provides the main route, connecting to the A487 coastal road via Prenteg. Most visitors come from Bangor or Dolgellau on longer routes, whilst locals use shorter connections to Penrhyndeudraeth and Porthmadog. The village sits near Portmeirion and boasts one of Wales' few Roman bath-houses at nearby Tremadoc.
