Llandudno Junction occupies a vital transport crossroads where the A55 North Wales Expressway meets the A470 to Snowdonia. The town developed around its busy railway station, one of Wales' key rail hubs connecting coastal and inland routes. Long-distance visitors arrive via the A55 from Chester and the M56, whilst locals use the A470 south to Betws-y-Coed. The station features an unusual island platform design requiring all passengers to use the Victorian footbridge.
