Jasper sits at 1,060 m in the heart of Jasper National Park, reached mainly via Highway 16 (Yellowhead Highway), which links it to Hinton (84 km) and on to Edmonton one way, and to Valemount, BC (129 km) and Kamloops the other. The Icefields Parkway (Highway 93) runs south toward Banff and Lake Louise, a must-do scenic route. Hinton is the closest spot for fuel and EV charging on regular runs. Jasper also has its own small airstrip, YJA, though most folks come by road or Via Rail. Worth knowing: Jasper anchors one of the world's largest Dark Sky Preserves.
