About Hooksway

Hooksway is a small South Downs village in West Sussex, reached via the A286 from Chichester or the A3/A286 route from London through Hindhead. Local roads connect to nearby Marden villages and the B2141 heads east toward Petersfield. The settlement's name comes from an ancient drovers' route where shepherds would "hook" around the steeper downland slopes whilst moving their flocks.
