Holly Pond, AL

Holly Pond is a small farming community in north-central Alabama, about 15 miles southeast of Cullman via State Route 69. The town of under 800 people sits in rolling hill country with a humid subtropical climate. Most visitors arrive from I-65, exiting at Cullman and taking US-278 east to AL-69 south. It's roughly 45 miles from Birmingham and 40 miles from Huntsville, with the nearest major airport being Huntsville International about 50 miles away. The town gets its name from a spring-fed pond that early settlers found surrounded by holly trees.
