Hayfield is a Peak District village in Derbyshire's High Peak, reached via the A624 from Manchester (25km via A57 Snake Pass) or from New Mills to the south. The village sits in the Sett Valley surrounded by moorland and serves as a popular base for walks onto Kinder Scout and Bleaklow. It was the starting point for the famous 1932 Mass Trespass that helped establish public access rights to Britain's countryside.
