Hartshead

England

Hartshead perches on high ground in West Yorkshire, between the Calder Valley and the Pennine foothills, with commanding views across the industrial valleys below. The M62 provides the main long-distance connection via Junction 25 at Brighouse, whilst the A649 through Liversedge links to Bradford and Dewsbury for regional access. Local routes wind through typical Pennine countryside via B-roads connecting the scattered hilltop villages. The village church once employed Patrick Brontë as curate before his move to Haworth.
