Gowthorpe

Gowthorpe is a small East Riding village just off the A166 between York and Driffield. Most visitors arrive via this main road from York, 12 miles west, or use the A1079 from Hull through Pocklington. The village sits in gentle rolling countryside near several historic settlements including Stamford Bridge. A Roman road once passed nearby, its straight course still traceable in modern field boundaries.
