Glencoe is a small coal-mining town in northern KZN, easy to reach off the N11, which connects it straight through to Ladysmith (61 km) and Newcastle. The R33 gets you to Dundee and nearby farming areas for quick trips. Locals bounce between Hattingspruit, Wasbank and Dannhauser, all under 30 km away, while visitors from as far as Ladybrand and Silverfields make the long haul in for the area's Anglo-Boer War history. Newcastle Airport is a manageable 63 km drive, and old mine headgear still stands as a reminder of the town's coal mining days.
