Fulking is a small South Downs village in West Sussex, about 10 miles northwest of Brighton. Reach it via the A281 from Brighton through Henfield, then follow country lanes through the chalk valleys. The village sits at 714 feet above sea level in a sheltered fold of the downs, giving it an unusually mild microclimate. The Shepherd and Dog pub claims to be Sussex's highest pub.
