Ewanrigg is a small coastal settlement near Maryport in West Cumbria, reached via the A596 from Carlisle (25 miles) or from the A66 at Cockermouth. The area developed around 19th-century coal mining and sits on the Solway Firth with its distinctive mudflats. At low tide, you can walk remarkably far out onto the exposed seabed.
