Highway 43 runs right through town, connecting north to Tuscaloosa (45 miles) and south toward Mobile, while Highway 14 heads east to Selma. Most visitors arrive via I-20 to Highway 43 south from Birmingham, about 75 miles total. The 1869 Greene County Courthouse dominates the town square with its Second Empire architecture and prominent clock tower.
