Eighton Banks is a former mining village in Gateshead, perched on high ground south of Newcastle. The A1 motorway runs nearby with Junction 67 providing access via the A694, whilst the A692 heads west towards Consett and County Durham. Newcastle Airport is about 20 kilometers northeast, and there are over 400 EV charging points across the wider Gateshead area. The old colliery site, closed in 1968, is now a nature reserve where the original pit head gear still stands.
