Duntulm

Duntulm perches at Skye's northern tip, reached via the A87 and A855 through spectacular Trotternish Peninsula scenery. The 45-minute drive from Portree passes the Old Man of Storr, whilst longer journeys from the mainland cross the Skye Bridge after four hours from Inverness. Single-track roads require careful navigation with passing places. The dramatic ruins of 15th-century Duntulm Castle crown a rocky outcrop, once a MacDonald stronghold, now shared with grazing Highland cattle.
