3About Druridge Bay
Druridge Bay runs along Northumberland's coast between Amble and Blyth, accessible via the A1068 from either the A1 at Alnwick or near Cramlington. Newcastle day-trippers use the A1 north to the A1068 junction at Widdrington, whilst those from Scotland take the A1 south to Alnwick before heading coastward. The bay features seven miles of sandy beach backed by dunes and nature reserves, with the country park's freshwater lake created from a former opencast mine now hosting over 200 bird species.
