About Dolgarrog

Dolgarrog lies in the Conwy Valley between Snowdonia's peaks and the coast, accessed via the A470 trunk road. Most visitors arrive from Conwy (10km) or use the A55 before heading inland. The village developed around aluminium smelting, utilising abundant water power from mountain rivers. Over 30 EV charging points serve the area. The 1925 Dolgarrog Dam stands as a stark reminder of the 1925 disaster that killed 16 people.
