Doddinghurst Common lies in rural Essex between Brentwood and Ongar, reached via the A128 from M25 Junction 28 or through Kelvedon Hatch from the A12. This small commuter settlement sits amid typical Essex farmland with good access to London. The village green retains a working red telephone box, one of the few still in active service.
