Denholme Gate perches on the Pennine edge between Bradford and Halifax, reached via the A629 from Halifax or A6033 through Denholme village from Bradford. The B6141 offers a scenic moorland approach from Keighley, while longer journeys use M62 Junction 26 then A58. The settlement's name recalls the historic toll gate that once controlled the old Halifax-Keighley turnpike.
