Danbury

Danbury is a small Essex village positioned between Chelmsford and Maldon, accessible via the A414 from either direction. The A12 provides the main London connection, with drivers exiting at Chelmsford before heading east. The village sits on one of Essex's highest points, crowned by the remains of Danbury Camp, an Iron Age hill fort whose earthwork ramparts remain clearly visible at nearly 400 feet above sea level.
