Culloden

Culloden lies just east of Inverness along the A96, famous for its 1746 battlefield where the Jacobite cause met its end. The visitor centre sits 10km from Inverness Airport via the B9006, whilst the A9 provides the main route from the south through Inverness itself. The preserved moorland still bears the coloured flags marking exactly where Jacobite and government troops faced each other that April morning.
