Crow Edge
England
Crow Edge perches on elevated ground just outside Barnsley, where South Yorkshire's industrial edge meets Pennine moorland. The A628 provides the main route from Barnsley centre, continuing west as a major trans-Pennine link to Manchester, whilst the A61 from Sheffield connects via Chapeltown. The settlement's ridge-top position means it catches the full force of Pennine weather, and the name itself comes from the crows that still congregate along this historic ridgeline.
