Croghan sits along the R448 between Thomastown and Gowran in County Kilkenny, making it a handy stop for golfers heading to Mount Juliet Estate or families visiting Kilkenny's attractions. Most folk reach it via Junction 10 off the M9, then follow the R448 north for about 8 kilometers. The town's claim to fame is the old stone railway bridge from the Great Southern Railway line that arches over the road, creating a lovely frame for the countryside views beyond.
